Who we are and how we work

SingaporeHDB.com is an independent HDB information site. It is published by Brewtonic Inc Pte Ltd, a Singapore digital agency, and edited by Freddie Ang. We do not sell property. We do not take agent commissions. We do not run sponsored content. Every fact on this site is cited to a primary source on hdb.gov.sg, cpf.gov.sg, mas.gov.sg or iras.gov.sg, with the date we last verified it.

What this site is not. SingaporeHDB.com is not affiliated with the Housing & Development Board (HDB), the Government of Singapore, or any property agency, bank or developer. We do not provide personalised financial, legal or tax advice. Always confirm case-specific questions with HDB, CPF Board, or a qualified professional.

The publisher: Brewtonic Inc Pte Ltd

Brewtonic Inc Pte Ltd is a Singapore digital agency, registered in Singapore, that builds and operates a portfolio of 30+ independent information sites across topics from swimming to property to local food. SingaporeHDB.com sits in the property portfolio alongside other independent reference sites.

Brewtonic's editorial model is simple: pick a topic that ordinary Singaporeans find confusing, read the primary sources carefully, and publish plain-English explanations with every claim cited. The business model is deliberately narrow, the editorial standards are high, and the sites are built to outlast any single campaign cycle.

The editor: Freddie Ang

Freddie Ang is the founder of Brewtonic Inc Pte Ltd and the editor of SingaporeHDB.com. He is responsible for the editorial direction of the site, verifies every fact against primary government sources before publication, and reviews the content quarterly for accuracy and freshness.

Freddie is not a licensed real estate salesperson, mortgage broker, or financial adviser, and SingaporeHDB.com is not a substitute for those professionals. The site exists to answer the questions that come up before you need to talk to one: what is the rule, how does the process work, what counts as first-timer, how much can I borrow, when does the MOP start. Questions of fact, not questions of personal judgement.

Editorial standards

Every page on SingaporeHDB.com follows the same five rules:

  1. Primary sources only. Every fact links to the specific .gov.sg page it came from. We do not cite third-party property portals, banks, or agents for rules, figures, or procedures. Those are secondary at best and marketing at worst.
  2. Date stamped. Every page has a "Last verified" date. Time-sensitive figures (interest rates, income ceilings) are explicitly flagged for quarterly re-verification.
  3. Honest hedging. Where a rule is discretionary (MOP waivers, case-by-case approvals), we say so plainly. We do not promise outcomes we cannot guarantee.
  4. No calculators we cannot verify. For Buyer's Stamp Duty, we link to the official IRAS calculator rather than build our own. The rules change, the official tool follows, a copy would drift.
  5. Corrections in public. When we find an error, we fix the page, update the "Last verified" date, and note what changed if the change matters. No silent rewrites of figures.

How this site makes money (or does not)

SingaporeHDB.com does not, at the time of writing, take agent commissions, referral fees, affiliate revenue, sponsored content, or advertising from banks, developers, insurance companies or property agents. There are no pay-to-rank listings, no "featured" partnerships, and no hidden relationships with the professionals we reference.

If and when that changes, the editorial policy is to disclose the relationship prominently on every affected page. This policy is not a guarantee that the site will stay free of commercial relationships forever, but any future commercial relationship will be visible, not buried.

What this site covers, and what it does not

Covers: HDB buying and selling rules, CPF housing grants, HDB vs bank loan comparison, the resale process, the Minimum Occupation Period, and other procedural and rule-based questions for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. All facts are drawn from hdb.gov.sg, cpf.gov.sg, mas.gov.sg and iras.gov.sg.

Does not cover: personalised financial advice, town-by-town buying recommendations, "best flat" rankings, mortgage broker referrals, or any individual flat valuations. For these, you need a licensed professional. We will happily tell you where to find one, but we will not recommend a specific agent or broker.

Corrections and contact

If you find an error, an outdated figure, or a missing citation, please email the Brewtonic editorial team. Every correction is reviewed within a week, and we will update the page and its "Last verified" date when the fix is published.

For everything else, brewtonic.com is the right place to start.
